I initially starting blogging as a way to keep my family over in Australia in touch with what our little family unit over here in NZ had been up to. Since then I have written a few posts about what we've done, some homeschooling stuff and not really much else. Unfortunately when we are really doing some fun stuff it often takes a little more of my time and energy and therefore I haven't had the pep (I didn't want to use that word energy again) to keep up with the blogging, even though that's usually the stuff that is more fun to blog about.
Also my peeps some of you may read my blog but because you never actually comment on the blog, it's kinda hard to know if anyone actually is reading it and again that can be a bit disheartening.
Now I really need some motivation to get back on the blogging treadmill, because I have discovered that I usually quite enjoy my writing time and actually doing something that is just for me.
Sue Elvis, yes true name my peeps, writes a lovely blog that I follow, Sue Elvis Writes. With a name like that I'd make it my blog name too! Just quickly in case I forget to say it, you should pop across and check out Sue's blog, she writes so beautifully and poignantly. I mostly follow homeschooling blogs for ideas and inspiration (and at times to feel inadequate) ... what's with those "moms" that post fantastic crafts and activities that they manage to do everyday, seriously do they spend all night thinking up new and exciting activities! ... anyways ... Sue Elvis Writes is not about that, it's about her life, her family, her grief over the loss of one of her much loved babies and sometimes her funny musings. The lovely Sue does have another blog Stories of an Unschooling Family about unschooling her family if that's what you'd prefer. Crikey if she reads this she'll be thinking I am stalking her!
You may wonder why I even brought up Sue, well it's because yesterdays posting from Sue was about Angels and at the bottom of her lovely posting, she mentioned how Angels was her first posting in a Blogging from A - Z Challenge that she was participating in.
I took a look at the Challenge and have decided to take it on as "A" personal challenge. Hopefully it will give me the impetus to get back into the swing of blogging! If not I will crash and burn out gracefully.
Basically you are supposed to blog each day, excepting Sundays which we all know is a day of rest (or total collapse), starting with the letter A through to the letter Z.
I realise I have cheated a little with the "A" today but that's so I can let y'all know what I'll be doing this month (and I am a bit Johny come lately so haven't really given this much thought) and hope you will follow me along my attempt to do a whole month of blogging. I mean really, I could have also started my posts with April Fools Day, which would have been simple too, so give me a break!
Hmmm now B is for ...
Lisa,
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so glad you are joining me with the a-z challenge! It's going to be so much fun sharing a month of posts with you.
Thank you so much for your kind words about my blogs, and for the links. You are beautiful! You have used most of your first post to talk about me. As I was reading, I began smiling. One of those special moments. Thank you!
I'll be back tomorrow for B. Actually, I have already posted my B post. I seem to be a day ahead of everyone else. The time difference is confusing. Perhaps I should post late each day to let everyone else catch up.
Can't wait to read your next post!
God bless!
Maybe I should have called it Amazing Sue ... hehe
DeleteI love your blog, Sue I genuinely open your links with great enthusiasm when they arrive.
I was laughing earlier with a friend about my next blog ... I am already struggling to think ... lol
Welcome to the challenge! No worries on the cheat ;) It counts.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, and happy blogging!
Thanks Kaye that is very nice of you to comment.
DeleteDo you have a blog I can link back to view also?
Just wanted to say hi, loving this challenge. We seem to live similar lives, just different countries, we're in Brazil.
ReplyDeleteAs to your problem about not knowing how many readers you have, to find out sign up for google analytics, its not too hard to use and really good.
I'll be back!
Maggie so nice to hear from you. How cool that we are in such different countries but live similar lives. It is a small world! What's your blog address so I can pop over to visit you ;)
DeleteThanks for the heads up over google analytics, I am not sure if that would just make me weep with despair when I see how unread I was ... hehehe
Yep, I read you Lisa! Don't always remember to say something, until we get to the pool!
ReplyDeleteBadwolf ... I am laughing my head off. You do come up with some ripper names woman!
DeleteHi Lisa, I stalk you every now and then I pop in for a read! Great idea and maybe I need to start a blog for our new life in Queenstown!
ReplyDeleteOOOh yes please do start a blog, I'd definitely follow that. It's going to be such an exciting new time down there for you guys in Queenstown. What a great lifestyle!
DeleteI really wish I hadn’t gotten so behind in reading your blog (it wasn’t you, it was me… I hadn’t read any blogs in ages so trying to catch up with my favourites )
ReplyDeleteIf I had kept up, I would have seen this sooner and been able to join in… with only a week to go I don’t see that happening.
Hope you’ve been enjoying the comment love I see you’ve been getting, and hope it continues long after the challenge ends.
It's actually been a little bit hard. There are things you want to blog as they happen but you try and find a letter for them to link to kinda means I haven't been blogging some stuff I normally would. Then there are letters you could do a million blogs for! It's a bit hit and miss for me.
